Escape Rosecliff Island is a hidden object game developed by SpinTop Games for Big Fish Games.
To play a hidden object game does not mean that you have played them all, however, this is one of those cases where from the very beginning you can realize that not all the necessary attention has been paid through the development process in order to achieve a truly original and unseen product.
I could say that Escape Rosecliff Island is not an outstanding hidden object game, as a matter of fact, some fans of this genre may agree with me and say that we are in front of a recycling process of some parts from its ancestor such as Mystery P.I. - The New York Fortune (mini-games and objects were directly copied and it also features identical sound effects).
On the other hand we can say that despite its lack of originality, this game is still able to deliver a decent gaming experience. There are some well built scenarios and mini-games provide a lot of fun. When it comes to the story, it is fairly good, a shipwreck occurs during a heavy storm and we find ourselves in a distant unknown island, there we have to solve some puzzles and search several places in order to get some objects which are necessary to escape from the island.
The gameplay is really easy and straight forward: we are going to use our mouse to click on objects from a list. 20 minutes is the approximated time we will have to fulfill each scene which are 25 in total, one or two hints are available if we can't figure it out. Unlimited Seek & Find mode and Mystery Bonus Game mode can be unlocked by finding two hidden padlocks in each location. As a matter of interest, I can tell you that the first mode from the two mentioned above enables a total of 2100 objects to be found.
Summing it all, this is a good and eye-catching game, mostly provided we didn't find the similarities with its predecessors.
